Update: December 07, 2005 «©NCSX» As the famous Momotaro Dentetsu series reaches an impressive 15th volume, Hudson throws in a motley group of monsters to spice up the train-traveling board game. The creatures that appear at various train stations to bar player progress or impart gifts include a red-faced devil who grips a butcher knife in its right hand and generally haunts the Tohoku region of Honshu island. There's a pearl-shaped critter who potentially rewards travelers at Toba Station in Mie prefecture, an odd apple-hat wearing ape at Akita Station, and many more monsters that will amuse and delight players. A new cast of COM-controlled board game opponents also provide wiseacre foil and interesting challenges. View the back cover and screenshots on the main NCSX site. NCS Game Notes * In the intro to the game, monsters are wreaking havoc across Japan and using their powers to make a massive nuisance of themselves. The citizens are featful and the army has been called in to blast with ray beams and bombs to no avail. The monsters counterattack with their own skills and in the distance, a peach shooting fighter jet captures the beasts and transports them into a mountain but they morph into a massive monster. The peach shooter morphs into a robot and bouts with the beast amalgam to save the day by flinging it by the tail away. * Single players may compete against up to three COM-controlled opponents. Up to four human players may engage via multi-tap. Movement is determined by the roll of dice and events are triggered as each player's train lands on a spot on the playboard. * Animated screens featuring the characters are viewed after nearly every turn. We watched them balancing themselves on stilts, riding little zeppelins, fanning themselves with hand fans, enjoying a water slide, netting dragonflies, and more. This document is ©NCSX 2005.
