Update: July 31, 2003 «©NCSX» The 2003 version of K-1 World Grand Prix brings back fighters skilled in fighting disciplines such as American Kickboxing, Karate, Kung-Fu and Tae Kwon Do. It's a melting pot of styles which makes for interesting competitions and virtual demonstrations of "My Master/Sensei/School is Better than Your Master/Sensei/School" and other arguments of the ilk. Konami brings back the motion-captures for realistic animation and pained expressions during bouts. Controls are fairly simple with the four cardinal joypad buttons serving to punch (left and right) and kick (left and right) during a match. Ground rules for a match are also simple: Each bout goes for 5 rounds with a three knockdown rule. Fall on your ass thrice in a round and you automatically lose. Four game modes are available upon starting the game: Grand Prix Mode - Start a K-1 career Exhibition Mode - Quick and easy bout Trial Mode - Test your skills against various opponents Museum Mode - Fighter data, stats and clips from the 2002 season To add to the atmosphere of the fights, a roaring crowd and a ringside announcer provide aural excitement during bouts.
