Update: December 25, 2003 «©NCSX» Ever since medieval times and perhaps even earlier, the knowledge of alchemy and transmutation has been used by those trained in the mystical arts. Closely guarded and hidden by symbology and specific terminology, alchemy is limited to only to a small group of practitioners.Protagonist Edward Elric loses his sibling Alphonse in an unfortunate accident but with the use of alchemy, he contains Alph's soul within a suit of armor. Elric also suffers the loss of his right arm, which he replaces with a mechanical appendage. Ever the optimist, Edward decides that the Philisopher's Stone - the elusive agent capable of granting eternal life, changing tin to gold, and other miraculous transmutations, is the key to his woes and sets off on a mission to find it. Join Edward and Alphonse as they trek through the world of FMA - Alphonse is a powerful suit of armor which is animated by his soul force while Edward is able to attach a sword to his right hand and grasp other weapons to get his attack on. Along with powerful physical attacks, alchemical damage may be wrecked on enemies with Ed's knowledge of reagents, reactions and other mystic ken. Ed moves around and fights in real time action while Alphonse may be summoned to perform various tasks. Styled similarly to other Square productions, Full Metal Alchemist offers an interesting storyline, beautiful visuals to stare at and affable characters.
