NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» The wages of war takes it toll on nations, its infrastructure and its peoplefolk. Whether it be on land or air, machines of war rumble into theaters of conflict and toils away at the spirits of men. In the latest virtual war simulation to reach the PS2, players utilize high-tech heavy metal tanks, fighter jets and even stealth fighters to tackle the opposition.

Set in a parallel universe somewhere not here, Japan has been taken over by a military uprising and its citizenry labor under an oppressive boot. Even with defeated souls however, one leader emerges to bring hope back to the populace.

Rising up to the challenge of scattering the upstart regime, players take control of a rebel force who battles and skirmishes to take back Japan bit by bit, parcel by parcel and territory by territory. Early missions in the game establish a base of operations in a major city with arteries to other locations. Once the first bastion is secured, fortifications may be dropped to guard the perimeter and your tentacles of war extend outwards to take back Japan. Conquered cities provide income to fuel your war machine and prerogatives include taking back as many cities as quickly as possible. Once a flow of revenue start moving, players may then develop weapons and other hardware to enhance strike missions and fighting capabilities. Mighty weapons may eventually be purchased including the legendary battleship Yamato which was the largest warship ever built. The Yamato served as the flagship of the Japanese Imperial Navy in WW2 and it took the allies over two hours and multiple attacks before the behemoth sank to a deep grave.

Tactical theaters take place on land, rough terrain, the sea and in the air with ground units being bolstered by air support and sea units giving the occasional lift to ground troops. Environmental factors also affect the outcome of war and the developer used aerial photography to render realistic terrain from Japan onto the game including Tokyo high rises, professional baseball fields and even national highway systems are mapped accurately and to scale.
