Over ten years after NBC debuted on the silver screen, Jack Skellington and friends return for an encore on the PS2. Ever since the movie hit theaters in Japan, toys from Medicom, Sega, Tomy, Yujin and others have kept fans interested in the stylishly macabre yet lovable characters. As the story goes, Jack finds himself in a slump once again and decides that new scare tactics are needed to frighten and alarm the citizenry. He ventures forth on a mission to discover new tricks and treats. Three mischievous troublemakers (Lock, Stock, and Barrel) hear of Jack's departure and rouse Oogie Boogie who wreaks havoc on Halloweentown. A gang of skeletons have also invaded and are causing a major ruckus. To quell the shenanigans, Jack finds himself questing for peace and normalcy once again. Armed with a gooey, malleable wad of green ectoplasm, Jack stalks through beautifully designed 3-D levels and smacks foes with a prehensile rope of...mucus. Or something to that effect. Jack may perform whirling spin attacks to smack foes or throw the special goo to grab objects. A third usage is a sort of grappling hook where Jack swings like a veteran jungle king. It's akin to Simon Belmont's whip attack, only 100X more versatile. Jack may change into two additional personas during the game - Santa Jack and Pumpkin Jack, which expand his variety of attacks. When changing, Jack performs an elegant flourish and morphs. Santa Jack hits hard with snow and cold while the Pumpkin persona dishes out fiery blows. Santa Jack also carries a sack of toys and hands out gifts such as a Jack-in-the-Box which dazes enemies and a snowman that puts oncoming attackers on ice. View the back cover and screenshots.
