Living the life as an average high school student, Kasuga Nozomi is transported back in time to the Heian period of Japan. Caught in a war between the Minamoto and the Taira military clans, Nozomi is adopted by the Minamoto and thought to be a high priestess. In general historical knowledge, the Minamoto clan was nearly wiped out in 1159 but the bloodline was continued by Yoritomo Minamoto who founded the Kamakura Shogunate. As a priestess, Nozomi joins the fight against the Taira and helps to repel their forces in the encompassing drama. Amidst the adversity of war, love may also blossom between Nozomi and one of her handlers. View the back cover.

| paulafromtwoson (1): The BEST dating adventure game on the market! |
 |
| (Note: Please keep in mind that this game is a game based mostly on conversation... completely in Japanese. It is set in old Japan and sometimes uses somewhat difficult Japanese)
This is the third game in the Harukanaru Toki no Naka de series. Like the other games, it is an interesting mix of dating sim (for girls) and adventure game with RPG-like battles. It has beautiful character art, animated cinema scenes, and a great cast of famous voice actors.
You play as a 17 year old female Japanese high school student who, with two of her male friends, is brought to another world by a strange child. The world closely resembles old Japan (including its historical figures, etc.) except that it is becoming overrun by monsters. Your character finds out that she is chosen by the Dragon God (the mysterious child that brought her there) to save the capital - her mission becomes to, under the protection of the young men that are chosen to protect her, battle the monsters to gain the power to return home... but eventually in the game, she gets the ability to travel through time - you can then travel though different parts of the game with your new abilities to unlock new "destinies" (for example traveling to the past to warn characters of their mistakes - changing bad outcomes that were unavoidable the first time through) - making for an extremely unique gaming experience!
The game system is mostly based on choosing the best response to various questions and conversations throughout the game. Besides your character, there are about 10 other main characters (mostly young men) for you to build relationships with. By becoming closer to them, you will have more chances to find out about them - eventually developing the game into a love story. For each character that you can build a relationship with, there is a whole separate story with different cinema scenes and endings.
This game is relatively long compared to most other dating sims - comparable with the first Harukanaru game but not as long as the second. In my opinion, this game makes up for itself with quality. Unlike the first two, there are no card games, etc to be the 'filler' of the game. Also, because you can save at any time, there's not much chance of the frustration of having to play through a day several times to figure out the best conversational choices.
WHAT MAKES THIS GAME GREAT is that, unlike most games of its kind (including, to some extent, the first two games) this game's story is wonderfully complex and interesting - you'll feel like you're watching a great movie that you can control. It'll shock you and probably make you cry.
Anyways, I'm not the only one who loves this title. You can check out the Japanese reviews here: http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/videogames/B0006B10HK/customer-reviews/ref=cm_cr_dp_2_1/250-6767816-4182643
