Update: May 25, 2005 «©NCSX» Genki takes their successful highway racing model and transplants it into a circuit based racing simulator where courses such as the Tsukuba Circuit, Suzuka Circuit, and the TI Circuit at Aida where tight corners put the best drivers to the test. Cars from eight manufacturers such as Mitsubishi, Mazda, Honda, Acura, and Subaru are featured in the game and 30 types of car modifications ranging from the engine to the suspension to the wheels may be performed. Genki also touts over 900 parts from 100 manufacturers which may be used to enhance a vehicle to optimum performance and cosmetic sheen. A special feature in the game is the ability to take a snapshow using the Eyetoy and then apply the snapshot as a "skin" to a vehicle for a special body paint job. As is the case with Genki racing games, the game engine makes use of spirit points that are gained or lost as one barrels ahead of a competitor or falls behind. Rough driving will also cause a racer to lose spirits points - for example, tumble off the asphalt and your spirit tank will start leaking SP. Genki's includes Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway as an open freeway for players to free their racing spirit from the confines of a circuit system. Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway is a disparate network of expressways which connects Tokyo to neighboring prefectures and districts. Twenty four routes are currently in operation or under construction and TME serves as one of the available courses in Genki's latest racing game. View the back cover and screenshots.
