Update: November 16, 2005 «©NCSX» The 10th release of Beatmania IIDX features 88 tracks culled from J-Pop, Trance, R&B, and other genres. As the routine goes, watch the cues rain down the screen and slap the corresponding buttons to register a "Great" or other rating. As the music speeds up in tempo, rev up your fingers to match the cues as their descent ramps into overdrive. New to the PS2 version over the coin-op original are 7 songs and a Beginner's Mode for those who need to practice their rapid fire tapping. The seven new songs are:Genre: Hard House Jelly Kiss -Midihead's Smack Mix- Togo project featuring Sana The accompanying video - travel through a spacescape of some sort and pass asteroids, moons, and other celestial bodies while Sana sings and bops. Genre: Rhythm & Blues Strong Woman featuring DABO by Asami A gangsta starts off the track and does hand gesticulations before Asami dances onto the screen with four background dancers in front of eight spotlights. Asami also cavorts on a motorcycle. Of course, if you're intently staring at the cues dropping on the screen, the careful video choreography is unseen. Genre: Japanese Pop 泰東ノ翠霞 by bermei inazawa featuring 泰東ノ翠霞 Peppy Japanese female crooner sings old school wailing while the camera checks out some green forest, mandala symbols, and animal spirits. Genre: GABBA Hype the Core by DJ Chucky Magical headphones spin and lead to an explosion of shapes and 3D objects that whirl, rotate and dance across the screen. Ultra fast BM action which requires intense concentration. Genre: Hard House satellite020712 from "Coded Arms" by 猫叉Master Eerie and hollow technical music with a driving beat. A pervasive blood red background engulfs a cityscape as the camera surges onto various venues and sights in rapid fire staccato before focusing on morphing red shapes. Genre: Psychedelic Trance IXION by L.E.D. A satellite spins in the background while cool synth blows before rocking out and kicking off into a heavy beat. Mechanical doodads shift and assemble themselves in the video for a technical experience. Genre: Liquid Funk ACID VISION by L.B.D. Polygonal shapes appear and mechanical images and cut scenes are flashed across the screen. They appear to be bolting themselves on and linking. Or something. A mechanical insect-like creature appears and video distortion starts kicking in. Next up, choose to play the ARCADE version of BMIIDX 10th Style or the ORIGINAL PS2 incarnation. * Players may choose music selections as follows: ALL MUSIC / NEW MUSIC / OLD MUSIC. NEW MUSIC brings up selections such as "Think of me," "COSMIC RAISE," "GRADIUS -FULL SPEED-," "Freezing atmosphere," and many more. OLD MUSIC includes "Glorious Days," "Prince on a star," "REINCARNATION," "fly through the night," and more. * For gamers who don't have a Beatmania IIDX controller, it's still possible to play the game by using a Dual Shock pad. The SQUARE, X, and O buttons serve as the white buttons in that order and the L1, L2, and R1 serve as the black buttons while R2 is the turntable scratch.
