«©NCSX» The Limited Edition of Separate Hearts includes a laminated slip case which holds the game DVD and bonus CDs together in a compact package. The first bonus CD contains an original dramatic scenario based on the Separate Hearts game. All five of the voice actresses who supplied vocals for the game participate in the drama. The second CD contains software for use with the PC. There's a mini-game, wallpaper for your desktop, and screen savers to install in case you want the heroines of Separate Hearts to appear on your monitor whenever you're inactive for more than 5 minutes.

«©NCSX» Junichi is motorcycling to high school when he gets into an accident and suffers a bout of amnesia. As the game starts, Junichi is in his dorm room and remembers that he has to head for school. As he walks through the town, he passes a stream and stares at the water but his moment of contemplation is broken by a teacher. Heading on to school, Junichi meets a schoolmate who's standing in the hallway and interacts a bit. When he finally reaches class, the seats are all empty but his teacher joins him in the classroom. Junichi experiences a flashback of a blonde girls and faints to the floor. Afterwards, the intro to the game plays where the gal classmates are shown in slow and deliberate animation. Later, additional students interact with Junichi but he can't remember who they are and what their level of associations are. The goal is to converse with the various girls and perhaps regain a level of intimacy that was once shared. Five maidens with unique backgrounds and personalities provide interactive foil and perhaps romance.

Separate Hearts features extensive customization options to tailor the screen, sights, and sounds. In the title screen, click on the SYSTEM option and then click on OPTION to position the dialogue box, set BGM volumes, change the color of the text, and much more. A HELP option may be clicked to view the Dual Shock controls.
