Update: March 15, 2006 «©NCSX» It's been over four years since Bemaniacs slapped the high hat and thundered the frets in GitaDora! which was released in September 2001. After such a long silence, the plucking and strumming resumes anew with Konami's Guitar Freaks V & Drum Mania V which features 68 tunes such as "You'll be a man" by Thomas Howard, "NO MORE CRYING" from Brenda Vaughn, "Panasonic Youth" courtesy of THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, NOCTURNE NO. 9, and "mushroom boy" by Poo. New to the PS2 version of the game is a Free Mode and a Training Mode to get newbies up to speed. The song library isn't very substantial relative to the hundreds of songs featured in the coin-op versions of GFV & DMV but we're enjoying the selections thus far this morning. We'll post full impressions and NCS Game Notes in a few hours after we shut down the Final Fantasy XII testing. In addition to the Guitar Freaks V game, NCS is also shipping all preorders for the Guitar Controller and the DrumMania Controller today. New orders are welcome to ship this afternoon and we recommend UPS Ground shipping due to the large size of each controller package. Please note that the Guitar ASC is on schedule for release on May 26, 2006.
