The Gradius games took themselves too seriously, with their dark colors and high-powered weapons. To punk themselves, Konami showed their grand sense of humor and flipped the dark script of Gradius and pumped forth a parody of the game with flying pigs, mighty penguins and bosses from the recesses of deranged minds. PSOne Books does not refer to an actual book but rather the branding of a budget priced series of games. Note: PS One Books refers to a budget re-release brand for the Japanese Playstation console similar to Sony's "The Best" series for the PS1 and PS2. PS One Books releases include the original Playstation game and a manual that are packaged in a plastic slipcase. To clear up any confusion, PS One Books is not a book. It is a game. Thank you.
