SeiferA (1): Super and Real Robots Colide!
Graphics: 4/5 Although the Graphics aren't perfect, they still get the job done and in spectacular ways with the attack effects and what not. Story: ??/5 I personally can't understand the story well, but if you're moderatly fluent in katakana or hiragami, then this should likely be the biggest aspect for you. The Giga Disk showed that the 1st SRWA game had a story twice the size of Final Fantasy VII is, and so far at where I'm at, this game is likely at the same size, if anything bigger. Gameplay: 5/5 It's simple and sweet. Select where to move, then select your attack on your opponent. As you play on, your robots will level up, and you'll earn money from your missions, allowing you to upgrade attacks, power, everything. The game also allows you to customize your own teams, so Great Mazinger will have the ability to team up with Wing Zero Custom, Geta Geta Robot and Kotetsu Jeeg in a huge team effort. The gameplay is unlike any game I've ever played before, and has a lot of great aspects. Music: 5/5 Some of the normal bgm music is average, but the themes for the robots (especially the banpresto originials) are great. And the title screen song (SKILL from Jam Project) is perhaps the greatest japanese song of the millienieum. Giga Disk: 5/5 Imagine Sonic Mega Collection's history option, but with 2 commercials of their newest game and a huge recap on the last game (just try to imagine the Sonic game had a huge HUGE story in it's last game). Now replace all of that with Super Robot Wars. That my friend is the Giga Disk. In my honest opinion, as a newbie to the Super Robot Francise, it was interesting to see all of this. The "last story" movie in the disc left me a tad bit confused, but it gives you an idea on how this series can have so many twists and turns. Overall: If you import PS2 games and like ANY mecha series, I HIGHLY stress you buy this game. Almost all of the Super Robots in this game are old, but their cool attacks and interesting designs will leave you wanting to know more about these old school Mechas. The real robots have a mix of old and new, so you may know some of those as well. As for the Banpresto robots, they are awesome in their own rights. Without a shadow of a doubt, if you don't know this game, then your PS2 import collection is incomplete. BEST. STRAGEGY AND MECHA. GAME. EVER.
