NCS Game Notes
* The intro to the game views soldiers seemingly preparing for battle. A breathless girl is heard and the camera peers into a town below - Domremy. Soldiers are seen from the back as they run through a forest with bayonets in hand. The soldiers stand around and wait outside near a church. They then rush to the church and stand outside the door, at the ready before kicking it open. As they warily enter the building in flanking style, they stop in front of a large glass window. The door slams behind them. From the outside, the soldiers inside hear the screams of their comrades and catch a glimpse of something winged attacking one of their fellows. Nervous inside and pensive, the soldiers position themselves in a circular formation and watch for attackers. A woman walks into the room in a uniform followed by a massive demon who crashes through the top window amidst a sprinkling of glass. Face to face with the girl, the demon stands there until a soldier knocks the girl aside. The demon then knocks the soldier into a column. As the soldiers stand around, they proceed to shoot at the winged demon. Camera shifts to an image of Mary and baby as screams of soldiers are heard. The demon is then shown performing mass carnage on the various soldiers. Two rush to the door but are kncoked out by the body of one of their comrades. One of the solider tries to throw a grenade but the demon knocks it out of his hand. It drops and as it explodes, demon covers the girl with his body. The demon turns to leave and after it takes a few steps, it turns into a man...

* In the next scene, Lt. Korin Koenig (the girl from the introduction) is in an interogation room where she's being questioned about the events. Although her story is incredible, the general and others in the room believe her and want her to be a guide to another trek to Domremy. They want Domremy to fall under the power of the Empire. Although Domremy has no strategic value, the Empire can't afford to suffer any resistance from small towns. Cardinal Nicholas Conrad from the Vatican enters the room and introduces himself.

* One week later at the vatican, Korin is with the Cardinal discussing the upcoming mission. The Cardinal tells Korin that he needs a charm inside Apoina Tower aka Tower of Atonement where dangerous heretics were imprisoned. The tower is filled with spirits who went mad from their torture.

* During the game, the Judgement Ring is used - the areas of color on the ring are called Hit Areas. Hit these sections and you'll perform an attack. The red parts beside the Hit areas are called Strike Areas. Your attack will become more powerful if you hit these.

* When the Judgement ring appears, the indicator will start to revolve from the 12 o' clock position. Press the X button and stop it in a colored area to launch a powerful attack. The number of attacks you may perform is indicated by the number of Hit Areas. For example, early Judgement Rings will have one or two Hit Areas with a complementary number of Strike Areas within the Hit Areas.

* When using Special Abilities, another Judgement Ring appears and serves as the meter for striking successfully. The green parts are called Step Areas. They don't affect the Special Ability's strength but you have to hit them for successful ignition of the attack. It's the blue Modulate Areas that determine the strength of the attack. Hit them in the latter half for increased power.

* If you hit all the areas that appear on the Judgement Ring, you'll succeed in using the special ability. Besides the Judgement Ring, there are other types of rings that appear in the game.
