Update: December 29, 2004 «©NCSX» Playmore retro-rockets back to 1994, retrieves old KOF code, and zooms back to the present day, updating the original with new high-gloss visuals and an improved game engine. Hot 3-D backgrounds shimmering with animation and special effects add to the eye candy. The old school contingent who are generally content with the original BGM and 2-D backgrounds are not left out. Original content may be toggled for some of that 1994 love. Rebout also represents the first time that KOFighters are able to go online and battle against others across the KDDI multi matching service. To ensure that every online Athena and every Kyo is unique, characters may be color-edited to unique shades and combinations as one sees fit. Although the usual pre-set teams of fighters may be selected, specially made trios may also be created from the original '94 cast and '95 bruisers such as Rugal (Bernstein and Omega versions) and Saisyu Kusanagi (Kyo's poppy). To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the KOF series, every copy of KOF '94 Rebout includes an 81-page mook which contains character profiles, artwork, background on the series, the storyline/storyboard for Rebout, and creator feedback. There's also chronology/details for KOF '94 to '98.
