After replacing the stars with the help of the Prince in the original Katamari, the King of All Cosmos' reputation is back on track. Eager to score more points with his adoring audience, the King sends the Prince and a few of his cousins out to create even more Katamaris for the heavens. Guide Oji once again in a rolling action game where objects snowball together in lumpy fashion. New locales take players underwater and to new outdoor environments where recognizable landmarks may become fodder for the ever-growing morass of matter. A highway track serves as a fast-paced arena where Oji muscles against bikers and unlikely motorists while conglomerating bits of road debris. Yet another playfield unleashes Oji in a garden setting where hundreds of dainty flowers are plucked from their stems and bushes by the rolling mass. Once Oji rolls a big enough wad, plump cacti, pitcher plants, and snapping venus flytraps also become victims to his Katamari rampage... A 2-player cooperative mode is available where two rollers terrorize the world in split screen action. A battle-mode may also be engaged where opponents grow their respective junk piles faster than the other to target them for rolling over.
