| the best game since the first tales of destiny, the Battles are never a waste of time with the action-packed battle system
For gamers who have played this series before, the unique battle system is something you won't forget. Unlike other RPGs in the market, the "Tales of" series requires the player to participate actively and not just watch the battle being played out. A combination of buttons result in attacking or defending moves, allowing the player to dive into the excitement. The production team also included the ability to auto-zoom and see special effects in detail. All these give the player tactical options and an exciting battlefield atmosphere.
Elaborate and beautiful graphics design
Unlike the contemporary use of 3D drawing techniques, Mutsumi Inomata used hand-drawn graphics, just like during his collaboration with Namco for the previous "Tales of Destiny", attenuating the warmth and closeness not found in 3D. The soft yet detailed 2D backgrounds bring out the tranquility of the villages and the foreboding atmosphere of the labyrinths.
Multiple possibilities to satisfy real life imagination
To create a more complete fantasy world, the production team has racked their brains for more creative ideas. The character sprites are expanded during plot advancements and there is even an item combination system to create new fantastic items from provided items. The game also boasts a lot of rare items which only earnest adventurers can find, and two or three times are sometimes needed to find each and every item. |
