NCS Game Notes * The location is Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp: In the intro to the game, we learn about the brain and how it's a battleground. The gravelly voiced coach Oleander has a wicked mustache and a soul patch as he tells the children in front of him how they're going to be trained to be Psychonauts. Later, a space cadet named Rasputin (Raz for short) introduces himself to everyone and tells of his aspiration to also become a Psychonaut. Raz has aviator glasses hiked over his head even though he doesn't plan on piloting a biplane anything soon. * In the Loading screens, pastel-colored birds flit and jet around. * During basic braining, Raz meets some of the ugliest characters ever seen in gaming. One kid has a massive stalk of hair boiling up from his head, green skin, a double-zero t-shirt, and four teeth zig-zagging out from his gums. They'd be right at home in a Tim Burton movie. * Raz mind melds with the coach to begin a training mission where he jumps and double jumps over ledges that have exploded, collect figments, and scale ladders. The obstacle course is of moderate difficulty although there is one portion which was very annoying... * Controls are through the L-Analog and the R-analog shifts the camera. To jump, press the X button and again for a double jump. The gameplay is solid but the "attract" level isn't very high and might cause some to doze off while playing...
