* Fight to the death in six styles of battles: Survival, Battle Royal, Duel, Team Battle, Hunting and Mock Battle.

* Buy and sell a broad array of weapons, shields, helmets, and body armor.

* Throw and pick up items. In combat, everything becomes a weapon.

* Dodge, parry, attach, then execute your opponent, but never surrender. Caesar and the crowds will judge your actions!

* Master brutal fighting techniques and prepare for combat at the gladiator training ground.

* 2-player duels in Arena mode. Choose the Colosseum as the battle site for 2-player co-op and duels.

* The intro to the game shows a gladiator getting ready and entering a cheering arena before knocking a blue diapered opponent out with the side of his shield.

* Upon starting the game, the gravelly voiced interviewer addresses you as "Dead Man" and gathers your information which he scribbles down on a piece of parchment. You're soon brought to a slave area along with fellow slaves whereupon an old owner tells the slaves that they'll soon enter the arena as fighters.

* The first fight is betwen you and an a fellow slave. Although weapons are on the floor, the opponent doesn't pick up a weapon at first, making him easy game. After slughtering the slave, the hero goes back into his cell. Subsequent slave battles show that the other slaves aren't very smart and will occasionally strike at air or just stand there whlie they're hacked to death. Opponents are progressively more aggressive as the game continues.

* After a while, Magerius purchases you and takes you to his training camp. There are training exercises which teach the various blows and side blows that one may use. Pressing and holding any attack button increases its level of power.
