From the publisher Eight Lives, Infinite Possibilities. In Romancing Saga, you direct one of eight intriguing playable characters, each with their own adventures and goals. A mysterious minstrel sometimes guides your party to adventure, and at other times protects it from shadow. Occasionally he forces upon you grave choices that will change the world in which you travel - and twist the plots you encounter. NCS Game Notes * Square kept the wandering minstrel at the beginning of the game singing in Japanese. Watch as he strums a double banjo and wanders through the entire planet while denizens frolic in the background. * Eight heroes are playable, each with their own individual stories and life paths. There's Albert the nobleman, Aisha who's a Young Nomad, Gray the swashbuckling adventurer, Claudia the Ranger, and more. * We chose Jamil and renamed him Shoulders. He's a male thief by default but the game allows the transformation of gender to female if so desired. The story starts off in a sprawling urban city named South Estamir where Jamil and a cohort named Dowd are snooping around an estate and robbing it. Someone walks in on them and the two vamoose. The sequence changes to an animation where Jamil rushes away. The scene changes back to the game style where Dowd and Jamil discuss their escape. * Jamil runs with shoulders hunched forward and baby steps. He's akin to a charging bull. If bulls were midgets. There's a little boy who runs up to Jamil and begs for some change. If the "Get Lost!" option is chosen, the little boy will run off, turn around and yell, "Go to hell!" Now he really won't get anything. If you do decide to give him a little something, he'll bellow out "Let's get some candy!" or "That all you got?" or "Never met anybody so stingy!" The little boy is very persistent once he spots you and will chase until he catches you. * At the South Estamir Pub, a job may be curried from a patron who sends Jamil and Dowd on a mission where they are to find a guy's secret harem. The job was commission by his wife. The minstrel in the pub will tell the tale of three evil gods and how they were defeated. If you ask the minstrel to play a song, he will offer to join your party.
