Update: September 5, 2006 «©NCSX» The square-shaped rascal known as Spongebob resides in the depths of Bikini Bottom and shuffles to his job as a fry cook each morning. Since Bob works in the kitchen, his sponge body proves useful when grease stains and a splattering of catsup needs mopping up. Sega takes the Spongebob character literally by creating four sponges which are square-shaped and etched with the recognizable mug of the lovable cartoon hero. When a cup of mushy oatmeal is spilled on the kitchen floor, grab the (B) sponge which features the appropriate facial expression and soak up the mess with quick determination and ease. Each sponge measures 5.5 x 4.25 x 1.25" in dimension and a loop on the top allows for proper hanging on a hook in your kitchen. The price for each sponge is US$10. Questions and Answers » Which Spongebob Sponge does NCS recommend? « NCS staffers are generally partial to the "C" sponge in the photo since Spongebob has a dumbfounded look on his mug. The dumbfounded sentiment fits well with the quality of cooking in our kitchens. » Why does the Spongebob Sponge cost $10? « Sadly, Japanese products that are licensed for sale in Japan are generally expensive. We are painfully aware that generic sponges at the local bodega probably cost US$1.50 for a pack of 100. Our costs of importation with Express Service for the Spongebob Sponges were also onerous.
