A year after the events in Rival Schools, the citizenry has largely forgotten about the attacks by Hyo Imawano and the takeover of Justice School. At the Taiyo Pacific athletic competition, an attack occurs and strange days are upon the members of Justice High and rival schools across Japan. Once again, the teams are united by fate and engage in 3-D fighting action. Numerous game modes are available and we recap them below: Arcade: Original coin-op game with Story Mode and Free Mode Versus: Battle one-on-one against human or AI Training: Practice combos and special attacks to your heart's content League Battle: Round robin tournmant against 2-6 teams Tournament Battle: Eight teams play survivor; outfight them all Option: Adjust joypad configuration, set difficulty, etc Memory Card: Save and load data from a VMU Extra: View story mode bouts and 360 degree background graphics or listen to game music and character voices Upon starting the Arcade > Story Mode, players choose a trio of fighters from six possible high schools. We're partial to Batsu, Hinata and Kyosuke so we chose Taiyo High School. The first two opponents met are a strangely turned Wild Daigo and Kurow Kirishima. These two are fairly easy to beat and Batsu should be able to take them single-handedly. Kurow is cheesy and fights with what appears to be Lee's press-on claws. His two basic attacks are an overhead slash move and a kick move. Toy with him for a couple of seconds before knocking him out with a few overhead kicks, sweeps and a couple of knockout punches. The trio of girls who pop up next (Zaki Aoi Himezaki, Akira Kazama, and Yurika Kirishima) are slightly more difficult due to their speed and propensity to dole out "Team-Up Technique" moves where two of them will pull off a special attack upon your hapless and frozen fighter. Upon beating the girls, the story takes a turn and it appears that someone or something is impersonating Batsu and causing trouble. The next fighting duo in the Taiyo High School story consists of a young girl named Momo and a violin-playing gal named Yurika Kirishima who appeared in the last bout. Momo is particularly memorable because she dances onto the fighting field, chants a few words and attacks with rabid tenaciousness. She pulls out a nasty tennis rush move where her tennis racket whacks any which way but loose... The Dreamcast Collection (DreKore) version of Moero! Justice Gakuen is a straight re-release of the original game and there are no differences other than the orange/white Dreamcast Collection sticker on the front wrapper. The game was released in the USA under the name of Project Justice in limited quantities, just as the DC was nearing it's stateside swansong.
