Adol and Dogi are walking through the marketplace when they spy a fortuneteller who is giving out readings. Dogi decides to get his fortune told but in the midst of the reading, the fortune teller's crystal ball explodes and she shrieks that a great calamity is coming. Shaken, Adol and Dogi return to Dogi's village of Redmont where they hear reports of monsters invading the mine. Anxious to rescue the trapped village elder, players take control of Adol and guide him through the caverns while slashing away at scuttling creatures.... Nearly two decades after Ys original release on the Japanese PC (1987), Adol Christian's side-scrolling action-adventure enjoys another re-release. The story has some extras thrown in to freshen up the adventure and the graphics are completely redone in snazzy detail but Adol is still of small stature against the looming game world...just like in the original game and the other remakes. A slightly larger hero would have been preferable but we'll take whatever we can get at this point. The limited edition of Ys III includes the following bonus items: ● 34-page art and data booklet ● Soundtrack CD ● Ys Collection binder which is capable of holding all three PS2 Ys games (Ys I&II, Ys III, and Ys VI Ark of Napishtim) that have been released thus far. There's a piece of cardboard filler inside the binder but you may discard it. View a larger photo of this item and screenshots.
