Takara ships nifty miniature Transformers toys in July 2003 called Small Transformers AS-1 Figures. Seven types are available with each robot capable of transforming from robot to vehicle. Measuring a mere 2" or 3" depending on the model, Starscream, Soundwave, Bumblebee, Prime, Sideswipe, Chase Figure (Skywarp) and Chase Figure (Cliffjumper) are represented by the new collection. The Chase figures are secretly hidden amongst assorted cases for fans to ferret out. Please note that the toys are packaged randomly and priced at US$6 each but you may purchase a factory sealed case by entering a quantity of 12. There is no rhyme or reason as to how Takara packaged the AS-1 figures as a complete case of 12 does not guarantee all seven types. Reports from customers seem to indicate that every case contains at least 1-3 pieces each of Soundwave, Sideswipe, Bumblebee, Prime with the other three randomly inserted into every carton.
