«©NCSX» Have you ever felt the murderous inclination to completely crush an innocent cherry tomato with a kung-fu grip? Neither have we but just in case that thirst ever needs slaking, Taito has announced the creation of fake cherry tomatoes that may be nearly destroyed with your bare hands. Sold in master cases of 340 cherry tomatoes at about US$320/case, two types are available: a red cherry tomato with green vine attachment on top and a green cherry tomato. Please note that real cherry tomatoes cost a fraction of what Taito is charging for fake ones but nevermind that. Real tomatoes should be used for nutrition and not for your maniacal crushing pleasure. The video posted below is from Taito which shows the capabilities of the Juicy Tomatoes. In some sequences, the tomatoes are shown being dropped and completely destroyed but they reassemble themselves somehow. We tried throwing the tomatoes onto the pavement but they just bounced off instead of smashing. The outer skin of the tomato is sticky which attracts a lot of dust and dirt but we removed them by using a piece of tape to pull all of the detritus off. What we were able to do was attempt to crush the tomatoes but whatever we tried to mash or crush them, they maintained their tomato shape after the duress was removed. While we couldn't figure out how to destroy the tomatoes with our bare hands, one of our customers reported that his daughter simply plucked the stem from the top of the tomato and the liquid oozed out. Just like that. So, while we were hopelessly trying to crush them, a child was able to play around with one and bust it up with a simple plucking action instead of crushing force. NCS believes we could learn a lot from our children and little kids are the light of the world. Protect them, teach them, and love them so they can grow up to make the world a better place.
