«©NCSX» The Mini Knit Sackboy Plushes arrived last Friday but too late in the morning to take proper photos. NCS rectifies the lack of photos today with a gallery featuring the four Sackboy variants including the surprise Sunflower version which replaced the "Smile Sackboy" that was originally listed in Taito's preorder solicitation. The four Sackboy plushes are (From the left of the photo and going right): Normal Sackboy, Soldier Sackboy, Pirate Sackboy, and Sunflower Sackboy. Each mascot measures 10cm or 3.93" in height and is made of plushy brown material that's soft to the touch. To recreate Sackboy faithfully, a cloth zipper is located beneath Sack's chin. Preorders have begun shipping last Friday but for customers who reserved the "Smile Sackboy," we have sent a reconfirmation email to notify customers of the change and to inquire if they wish to order Sunflower Sackboy or switch to another variant. «©NCSX» Sackboy is a pop culture phenomenon. NCS got schooled on this fact back in October when we received LittleBigPlanet for the PS3 a few days earlier than the street date. Orders flowed in at an alarming pace and when news of Sony's recall got around, the pace quickened. Exponentially. It was an eye-opener as to the power and draw of Sackboy.
LittleBigPlanet and its hero has also attracted fans in Japan and when that happens, merchandising can't be too far behind. The first Japanese manufacturer to exploit Sackboy is Taito which is part of the Square Enix juggernaut. The Mini Knit Sackboy Mascot Plushes were released on November 28 and our entire shipment made it in earlier today. Four styles are in stock as follows: Normal Sackboy, Soldier Sackboy, Pirate Sackboy, and Smile Sackboy. Update: Taito changed Smile to Sunflower (check here for photo). Due to higher than expected shipping costs and the continued advance of the yen against the US dollar, we're raising the price per plush to US$13.90 but we're honoring the original price for preorders already submitted by customers. Mini Knit Sackboy reservations will begin shipping this afternoon.
NCS Update: December 2, 2008
The miniature Sackboy toys were released in Japan on November 28 and NCS expects our shipment to arrive in the next few days. We'll process and ship all preorders upon delivery of the cartons. The large Sackboys should be released sometime next week with stateside delivery soon afterwards.

Taito has started preorders for two Sackboy plush toys which are expected to ship in late November and early December.
1) Little Big Planet - Mini Knit Sackboy Mascot - Price: US$12.18 each.
If you look at the top of the sales sheet shown above, you'll see four Sackboy plushes with straps tethered to the top of their heads. These are the "Mini Knit Sackboy Mascots" which are available in four styles as follows (from the left to the right): Normal Sackboy, Soldier Sackboy, Pirate Sackboy, and Smile Sackboy. Each mascot measures 10cm or 3.93" in height and is made of plushy brown material that's soft to the touch. Preorders are welcome to ship in late November 2008 at $12.18.2) Little Big Planet - Large Knit Sackboy Plush - Price: $25.90 each.
The middle of the sales sheet shown above features two Sackboy plushes that are considerably larger than the aforementioned mascots. On the left is Normal Sackboy who's in a seated position and Pirate Sackboy (with a hook for a hand) who sits on the right. Each Sackboy toy measures 25cm or 9.84" tall and is made of the same plushy brown material that the mascots are constructed of. Preorders will ship in early Dec 2008.
Taito used a black background on their sales sheet to advertise dark brown toys. Maybe a lighter background shade would have improved the contrast and visual impact of the plushes.
