Update: November 9, 2005 NCS Synopsis: Spirit yourself to Fukufuku Island (Luck Luck Island) and find yourself and your future path by interacting with strange beasts which are capable of divining your destiny. The oddly apportioned creatures use 56 possible fortune telling disciplines which may or may not all converge at the same conclusion. The presentation of Fukufuku no Shima is reminiscent of standard 3D adventure games but it's nothing like an adventure. There are no far reaching goals, no conflict to overcome, no plot vehicle and no story arc. None of that. In Fukufuku no Shima, a participant enters his/her name, date of birth, blood type, and sex. Once the program has your background information, it creates a profile based on astrology. A little representative is also create who moves around the island. Based on your date of birth, the software then proceeds to map out how future days will unfold. In addition to divining one's future, the game also develops a psychological profile of the player and lists your state of mind on a particular date when queried. After introductions, the bird will ask the player a series of questions such as name, sex, date of birth, and blood type. After completing the information, a few denizens of Fuku Fuku Island are shown before the player sits next to the bird on the tree and jumps off to find his destiny... * The proper action starts outside a house. Either the d-pad or the L-analog pad may be used to move the protagonist around. The d-pad only allows for shuffle-walking while the L-analog is for full bore running. Rush forward in front of the house to check out the bird still seated in the tree. Go inside the house to perform a number of functions such as looking at a full length mirror, check the PC on the desk, or sleep. If you speak to the bird again, it will give you a recreation of itself encased in a little plastic bubble. * Three camera views may be toggled by pressing the R-trigger. There's an overhead view, an isometric angle above the player, and a close-up view which checks out the action directly in front of the protagonist.
