Update: May 24, 2007 «©NCSX» The latest and possibly greatest Bleach: Heat the Soul on the PSP features a sizable roster of characters, a new Soul Blaze system, and new special attacks for all of the participants. At the outset of the game, players may opt to transfer data from Bleach HTS 1-3 which unlocks main characters and partners in the game. If you don't have any Bleach data to convert, you'll have to unlock the characters and partners on your own. At the outset of the game, only 16 playable fighters are available but there's a total of 51 playable characters and 17 partner-only characters for a total cast of 68 fighters. Game Modes Character Master / Choose a champion and 2 partners; battle the ranks Mission Battle / Engage opponents where conditions must be met Vs CPU / Battle the CPU in Time Attack, Survival, 100 Survival, Free Battle Soul VS / Wireless versus play against another player Training / Practice with a fighter and 2 partners from 16 available choices Appendix / Sound Mode, Gallery Mode, Movie Mode, Convert Option / Game Setting, Sound Setting, Key Config, Save/Load Jan Code: 4948872680080 View the back cover and screenshots on the main NCSX website.
NCS Game Notes » The Training Mode is rather useful because you're fighting against a fully motivated COM-controlled opponent that's fighting as he/she would in the other modes of the game. The only difference between Training Mode and the other modes is your HP bar is unlimited and never dwindles to zero. The same goes for your opponent which restricts the sparring partners that you can encounter. The Training Mode allows a CPU Level of 1 to 5 for a challenging opponent if you're open to it.» A total of 28 stages are featured in the game but only seven stages are available at the outset. Only 16 characters are playable in the beginning but more fighters are unlocked as conditions are met. » The Game Controls are as follows: Triangle / Jump. Press again in sequence for a forward dash move. Circle / Strong attack. May be tapped in sequence for chains. Cross / Normal attack. May be tapped in sequence for chains. Square / Charge. Press again in sequence to rush forward. L-Trigger / Summon the power of Partner #1 R-Trigger / Summon the power of Partner #2 » Either the d-pad or the analog nub may be used for control. We found the d-pad more precise. Pushing up or down makes the fighter run in that direction for evasive maneuvers or tactical positioning. Pushing forward and back on the d-pad moves the fighter likewise. » When playing as Ichigo: If you're standing close to an opponent and push back on the d-pad and press the "O" button, Ichigo will grab the opponent and perform a quick cutting attack where he attacks from three directions in rapid sequence » Pressing SQUARE to charge up followed by pressing the "X" button will make Ichigo rise up and perform a multiple slash attack. However, all of that slashing action is for naught if your opponent is too far away to hit. If you do connect however, the attack will wipe out about 1/4 of the opponent's HP gauge. » There are occasions when the swords of two fighters clash, lock, and sizzle ala the original Samurai Spirits. If you're the stronger masher, the opponent will be blown away after the meeting of swords is concluded. » To view the KEY CONFIG or COMBO LIST while on the battlefield, press START and select the options that appear. The COMBO LIST includes every combination move that is available to the fighter such as "TRIANGLE, TRIANGLE" for dash forward or "X, X, X" for a three-hit normal attack. » Bleach HTS 4 is another satisfying 3D fighting game that adds just enough new elements to make it worthy. The new release features the largest character roster so far and the action runs characteristically fast and fluid with a game engine that sucks in all of your attacks, dashes, and special moves without a hiccup.
