Introduction
Continuing the flood storyline from the original Rockman Dash, the world has suffered a deluge and large land masses no longer exist. Islands are as big as the ground gets and quantum refractors provide the energy. Bands of diggers recover the refractors but they also speak about something called Mother Lode which is rumored to be capable of powering the entire world.

An industrialist named Von Muller decides to quest for the Mother Lode and to that end, he builds a massive airship called the Sulphur Bottom which is capable of journeying to a forbidden location that may hold the Mother Lode.

Prologue
As the game begins, the Sulphur Bottom courses through the sky and dwarfs other craft in the local vicinity. Von Muller and Casket Barrell peer at the tops of the clouds from a viewing window and spy a whirlwind in the clouds. A female announcer sounds out and requests Von Muller's presence in the Central Hall where a press conference is being held - the voices are all spoken along with text subs. The scene shifts to the conference where a throng of reporters inundate Von Muller and Barrell with flash bulbs. As the gathered mass is panned over by the camera, we see that Kobun is in the crowd along with two malcontents named Glyde and Teisel from her clan. The crowd is soon wowed by an image of the whirlwind from a window in the ship.

The scene shifts and we see Rockman and Roll in a room with a rotating fan overhead. They watch television and tune in on the broadcast of the press conference from the Sulphur Bottom. Roll pokes at her breakfast and appears to be groggy. The scene shifts back to the Sulphur Bottom and as the weather worsens outside, Yuna (disguised as a reporter) asks questions and warns Von Muller and Barrell that the Mother Lode might not be what they conceive it to be.

Another reporter bursts into the room with a shriek and levels an accusing finger at Yuna before the window breaks and a ship gathers her up. Kobun and cohorts look out the window to witness the departure of the mysterious blonde reporter atop Gatt's airship.

Back home, Rockman and Roll have witnessed everything on the telly and Roll avers to Rockman that Yuna is her mother but harbors doubts about her actions. The two vow to uncover more information and they pilot their ship called the Flutter upwards into the sky. As they head towards their destination, a little monkey creature named Data blocks Rockman's view while he's trying to maneuver the steering wheel. Data and Rockman have a little chat when Roll rushes down the ladder and announces lunchtime. In the background, the Data may be seen performing a rocking dance.

After more banter between Rockman and Roll, an alarm sounds and Rockman dashes out to see a fire on board the ship. Full control is finally handed over to Rockman where the L and R triggers are used to rotate while "X" sends him jumping. The SQUARE button sends out a torrent of water which douses the flames to allow passage to other parts of the ship in order to save Data from being crisped.

The scene shifts back to the Sulphur Bottom where Yuna and Gatts pull off an attack on the Sulphur Bottom and destroy its main engines. The massive ship begins to list and draws closer into the massive storm...

Controls
The lengthy intro eventually closes and Rockman and Roll find themselves landing in a snowy landscape. Control is sharp with Rockman responding to button and D-pad controls in snappy fashion. Bank right and he moves in concert. A world map keeps track of movements on the upper-left corner of the screen while a health bar keeps tabs on R's vitals on the lower-left. The basic controls are as follows:

X = Jump
O = Action Button (open doors, talk to people)
SQUARE = Fire off blaster
L = Rotate left
R = Rotate right
L + R = Aim at target

When jumping near a crate or ledge, Rockman will automatically grab it to hang on. To climb on top of the crate or ledge, simply press UP on the D-pad and he'll rise up.

GAME
Rockman may perform a sideways roll move to dodge oncoming attacks and of course dash in smooth fashion across the floor once he obtains the Dash Body Parts. When shooting at enemies, a targeting scope pops up to give an idea of where Rock's shots will head. Rockman will explore both land and underwater location in his quest. Boss battles are fairly routine affairs with slow moving metal monster pressing the attack. One boss is an orange humanoid construct with massive arms who swings and pounds the ground in an attempt to shockwave Rockman off his feet. When its fists pound the rock, jump up to avoid the shockwave and the blast at it. There's a training mission fairly early in Yosyonke City where Rockman battles metal worms and tin-can robots who block shots with its shield. Rockman has three minutes to complete the mission in order - the trick to destroying the tin cans is to amble close to them and fire once they move to attack and are momentarily defenseless.

TIDBITS
When inside the General Store, the cartons on top of the shelves are:
Oil's Oil
Noodle - 1 min - Pork
PUTZ Potato (May also be PUT1 Potato)
Mammy FamilyStation (an ode to Playstation?) - 3 units in stock!
There's also a poster of Zero hanging on the wall

Inside the Drunken Bar, the television in the corner is showing a short cartoon of Rockman while a fireplace blazes in the opposite corner. There are two paintings of dogs on the walls and one of a majestic looking building.

Inside the Junk Shop, there's a busted up television with wires poking out of it that's marked "CHEAP!" We would hope so.
