Description
Update: December 16, 2005
«©NCSX» With a glint of blue light, Rockman X manifests himself on a platform and leaps into action. Exactly 15 years after Rockman X debuted on the Super Famicom console, Capcom remakes the game with rendered visuals and crisp animated cinemas that relay the story in the game. The BGM and sound effects have also been upgraded to match the brand new graphics. NCS was expecting a 1:1 conversion of the levels but Capcom has modified the stage layouts and item locations (armor, tanks, etc) to confound gamers who were expecting to blaze through the game with tried and true routines. Before a boss encounter, a cinema is played which helps to convey the events as they unfold.

NCS Game Notes
* Rockman X has an airy trot where he seemingly bounds across the screen with soft padded steps. Tapping the shot button blows out a normal bullet but hold it down to charge up and shoot a fat blue blast which obliterates henchbots. When charging up for a blast, the center of X's being will glow with white hot striations and a starry pattern to demonstrate the level of power that's about to burst outwards.

* The levels scroll from left to right in 2D but they have 3D styling and dimensions to them. For example, traipse across a cavernous level and the platforms that you walk on are rendered with 3D shading, depth, and viewable structure. Enemies whiz and whir through the screen to attack and are animated beautifully.

* Rockman may leap against a wall and slowly droop downwards where friction slows his descent. At that point, he may elect to wall jump or turn around to blast an enemy or a boss. Rock may dash, jump, and wall jump which shows his shadow as he nears each side of the wall.

* After finishing the game, players may enjoy a new game where VAVA aka Vile (X's archenemy) is activated and playable.

* Please note that Irregular Hunter will only work on a PSP that has firmware v2.50. If you are on a PSP with firmware v1.0, v1.5, or v2.0, you will need to upgrade when the game prompts you to. The firmware update is included on the Irregular Hunter UMD.

Background Color
The story in Irregular Hunter X / Rockman X is a familiar tale of man vs machine. In the year 21XX, a robot known only as X serves as the template for a new breed of worker-bots dubbed Reploids. Things go awry when a faction of Reploids rebel against their human oppressors and break away to plot against humanity. To counter the runaway Reploids, a team of hunters is assembled to track down and suppress any insurgent rebels. After a short period of peace, a new threat fires up when a Reploid named Sigma threatens to topple humanity's dominant position on the planet.
