Description
Update: March 23, 2006
«©NCSX» Captain Blue is retiring his cape. Those old bones and that protruding belly can't hack it in what is essentially a young man's game and he decides to take on the director's chair. Since action hero movies must still be made and any new prospect requires serious screen testing, the buxom Sprocket suggests a casting call and many prospective silver screen players show up to audition for the role. In the intro to the game, Joe may be seen noshing on a sticky burger and various talent shows up for the casting call.

The following characters may be selected:

Viewtiful Joe
Sexy Silvia
Captain Blue
Captain Blue Junior
Blade Master Alastor
Emperor Jet Black

The following characters are locked and waiting to be unlocked.

Sprocket
Bianky & Flatty
Dinosaur General Big John
Viracocha Holy Statue
Stoppo
Dante

Dante is a PSP exclusive for the portable version of Battle Carnival.

JAN Code: 4976219654449

NCS Game Notes
» At the outset of the game, whichever character you choose is subjected to a number of exercises where coins and other items must be collected on screen. Barrels are also punched to hurl them onto graven images of Stoppo to shatter them. In later scenes, an enemy character also roams the set and you'll have to break more than he does to earn a shiny crown and a higher score. The early scenes serve as tutorials for charging up, hitting things diagonally to send them rolling diagonally, and other necessary skills to prepare for the big time. Either D-pad or analog nub may be used for control but the analog nub is better for striking diagonal shots.

» A vortex may be opened by striking a power-up onto your opponent where the two warriors are transported to a different dimension where a rapid button mashing exercise commences where all four face buttons are tapped to slash at a Stoppo. He who strikes it the most wins. A bar on the bottom keeps track of each basher's hits.

» The first level in the VS mode of the game takes place at a construction site where two actors battle it out while destroying innocent blue birds that are flying en masse through the level. Striking your opponent during the collection of coins will force him or her to drop a few coins that may be taken. Later on, a helicopter enters the fray and lobs missiles as well as Stoppo agents at the two. Whoever shatters the helicopter first wins and is rewarded with a mountain of gold coins at the ranking ceremony.
