Update: December 29, 2005 ©NCSX▪ From Japanese PC to Sega DC to Sony PSP, Aqua Plus' Comic Party has pushed doujinshi to the gaming masses. Based on the 13-episode television series produced by Aqua Plus/KSS of "To Heart" fame, Comic Party delves into the world of doujinshi. It's a subculture which focuses on amateur manga written and drawn by otaku, er, fans of popular original series'. Abnormally brimming with hentai content, doujinshi nevertheless tests all themes ranging from serious fan fiction to parody to imaginative franchise mixing. Enter Sendou Kazuki, average high school student by day (well, failed college applicant), who joins the fan fiction world on the beck of his friend Honbutsu Taishi. Together, the two plan world domination by way of their home brewed manga with Sendou providing reluctant foil to Honbutsu's unfettered exuberance. Providing conflict is childhood friend Mizuki Takase who equates doujinshi artists with vermin and tries to extract Sendou from his new subculture. As an artiste, Sendou attends conventions, draws comics, meets with other fans, and of course hits on beautiful anime maidens who also happen to live the doujinshi life. The girls all come pre-packaged with certain doujin preferences and it's up to you to figure out what they enjoy and cater to their tastes. In order to make a living, the doujinshi must be drawn (follow the cues on screen) and then sold at reasonable prices. If you attempt to gouge the fan base, you'll be stuck with piles of inventory. Sell them at cut rate prices however and you won't make enough to continue doing your special brand of doujinshi. New to the PSP version are full voice conversations and new CGs for the various heroines. View the back cover and screenshots on the main NCSX site.
