Update: March 30, 2006
«©NCSX» Naruto and friends dash into battle where they pummel each other and perform chakra attacks in free flowing motion. Along with the foreground which serves as a battlefield, the background may be leapt into for avoidance or for tactical maneuvering to mount a new attack. Along with fists and feet of fury, weaponry such as shuriken, bombs, and more may be picked up on the battlefield and then thrown by the fighters to spice up the attack repertoire. Naruto kicks and punches up a storm as he leaps, jumps, rallies, and runs through the varied levels which are inspired by key locations from the wildly popular animation series. The cast members include Sakura, Naruto, Shikamaru, Hinata, Gaara, Rock Lee, and more for a total of 14 characters at the outset and unlockables as objectives are achieved.

The characters that are fought and usable in the first few levels of the adventure portion of the game are as follows below. Once they are beaten, they join your ranks. All of the fighters listed below are usable at the outset in the fighting portion of the game:
Chouji Akimichi
Gaara of the Desert
Gai Maito
Hinata Hyuga
Ino Yamanaka
Kakashi Hatake
Kiba Inuzuka
Naruto Uzumaki
Neji Hyuga
Rock Lee
Sakura Haruno
Shikamaru Nara
Shino Aburame
Tenten

Sasuke Uchiha, Kabuto, and seven others are unlocked once the 100-level tower is conquered as follows:

Itachi Uchiha
Jiraiya
Kisame Hoshigaki
Orochimaru
Sandaime Hokage
Shizune
Tsunade

Controls
SQUARE / Shuriken attack
CIRCLE / Attack - Press continuously to chain punches and kicks
TRIANGLE / Power up chakra
X-Button / Jump - Double tap for a second jump higher

NCS Game Notes
* The voice actors and actresses from the animation were hired for their talents to provide the speech and exhortations in the game.

* At the outset of the game, Shikamaru and Sakura are commiserating when a wind blows and their attention is drawn to a shadowy tower in the distance. A vortex of energy above the tower appears imposing... Naruto crew are charged with scaling the tower, level by level, to reach the apex.

* The camera scrolls in and out smoothly as the fighters range close and far on the battlefield. Special attacks are shown in short cel-shaded animated sequences. When two fighters are close together, they fill up a little over half the height of the screen. When they're far away, they fill up approximately 1/8 of the height of the screen.

* Ten stages are featured in the fighting portion of the game with many taken from the PS2 Narutimett releases.

Kieichi (3): Naruto Narutimett Portable
I imported this game and it was tons of fun. I has a few cut backs in compairison to the first american PS2 release but these seem to be due to the prossesing limitations of the PSP. But all in all I enjoyed this version far more then the PS2 versions I have tried, the on screen action was far less clutered then the PS2 ones and it had a story on par with the Naruto movies. So I would highly recomend this title for any Naruto fan with a U.S. region PSP with a small grasp of the Japanese spoken language.
