Update: May 1, 2006 «©NCSX» The Evangelion universe is recreated faithfully in Bandai's EVA simulator which mixes gaming styles for an overall satisfying experience. Although the script follows the original storyline, player actions may alter the outcome for radically different conclusions. Shinji, Asuka, and Rei plod around a 3D school where they interact with fellow students, objects and explore the grounds. In addition to conversations with friends and classmates, vending machines may be interacted with where coins are inserted and refreshments delivered down the chute. The pace of the game is deliberate where every step is seemingly measured but the characters may run if so desired to rush from point to point. Voice actors provide the speech and although it's been a few years since NCS team have collectively viewed an Evangelion movie or episode on the premises, Shinji's voice actor sounds suspiciously feminine... and he giggles like a girl. He was always meek but this might be pushing it. Bandai touts new voice snippets which were recorded exclusively for the PSP game. Along with interactive interplay, Evangelion 2 features a battle system where mech handlers glide into an EVA and battle Apostles when they manifest themselves. The fighting portion of the game allows for full control of the EVA which is tethered to a power source but the cord may be severed to allow for freedom of movement for a limited amount of time.
