Update: October 05, 2006 «©NCSX» Gundam mechs rocket into battle once again and ricochet off the floors and the walls (if there were walls) on dusty battlefields. The game includes 70 types of mechs that are gradually unlocked as missions are dominated by an agile and capable player. The timeline of the game is the oft-played run from UC0079 to UC0087 and all of the major campaigns are visited including Jaburo and White Base. Mobile suits may be tuned up and upgraded as a handler successfully complete missions and ramps up the credits. Battles take place on terra firma, in outer space, on the moon, and the Zeon space colonies. Up to four players may link up wirelessly for competitive fire fights. Then there are cooperative battles where players defend bases from attackers and team up to accomplish missions. Early preorders will ship with a bonus Gundam Battle Royale Carabiner which doubles as a keychain or a cellphone strap with the included red twisty strap. Unfortunately we have given them all away as of this morning. Jan Code: 4582224491292 View the back cover, images of the bonus carabiner, and screenshots on the main NCSX website.

Earth Federation Game Play » On the side of the Earth Federation, the first mission dubbed "Party on the Sand" (Level D) takes place in the desert of Antofagasta where a Gundam faces off against three Zakus. At the outset, players may select a mech handler from 4 possible choices and then three Gundam mechs as follows: GM armed with Beam Spray Gun, Hyper Bazooka, Head Vulcan, and Beam Sabre GM[G] armed with 100mm MG, MS Launcher, Hand Grenade, and Beam Sabre Gundam[G] GM-H armed with 100mm MG, MS Launcher, 180mm Cannon, Flare Bomb, and Beam Sabre The objective in the first mission is to destroy three Zakus (one MS-06F Zaku II[F] and two MS-05B Zaku I units). Since it takes place on the desert and it's hot, the background sand dunes may be seen wavering due to the effects of the heat which causes visible distortion. » The second mission "Ransom for Victory" takes place in Pata Canyon and is a container retrieval mission where 7 boxes are lifted up and then brought to an airship in waiting. As the box pickup is commencing, Zakus appear to attack and provide interference. To pick up a box, walk over it and hold down on the R trigger. To drop it off, press the SQUARE button at the ship. The time limit is only 4 minutes to run around and complete the mission. We recommend using the GM[G] since it's more mobile and jumps higher than the other Gundams which is useful when scaling the plateaus to reach the containers. » The third Earth Federation mission takes place in the jungles of Jaburo (Level D) "On Large River" which starts off with rain pelting downwards. The Gundam has to wade in water to battle enemy Zaku who appear. A partner Gundam also appears in the level to provide backup support. Republic of Zeon Game Play » If playing on the side of the Zeon, the first mission "The Precaution Net" takes place in the Mojave Desert (Level D). Three Zakus are available at the outset as follows: Zaku I armed with ZK Machine Gun, ZK Bazooka, Cracker and Heat Hawk ACG armed with Laser Torch, Missile Pod, and Drill Zaku II[F] armed with ZK Machine Gun, ZK Bazooka, Magella-Top Gun, Cracker, and Heat Hawk The first mission is a simple attack mission where the objective is to destroy one RGM-79 GM, two RGM-79[G] GM[G], and five Type-61 MBT arms that are stationary gunpods. The second Zeon mission takes place in Quito Canyon (Level C) "Secret on the wilderness" where 5 containers must be picked up and dropped off at a waiting vessel for pickup by a Zeon transport ship in exactly 4:36 minutes. Jump jet and scramble around the landscape to pick up the boxes and drop them under a tight schedule. » When you fail a mission, the words "MISSION FAILED" appear followed by "Disappointed in you." » Before each mission, a communique from headquarters appears on the upper right corner of the screen where the portrait of a girl appears and voice acting spells out the mission parameters. For the Earth Federation, the gal is a redhead. For the Zeon, the gal is a blue-head. » After each mission, a prize or three is awarded which unlocks something in the Gallery portion of the UMD. » Anyone who enjoyed the original Gundam Battle game for the PSP will be well pleased with this new release. The new missions are varied enough to keep things interesting and challenging. A Gallery Mode also allows the viewing the robots and robot handlers like the original release.
