Banpresto celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Super Robot Wars series with an exciting PSP game which features a boatload of animation series and properties including:
Baldios, Char's Counterattack, Code Geass, Daitarn 3, Dancougar Nova, Eureka Seven: Pocketful of Rainbows, God Sigma, Macross Frontier Itsuwari no Utahime, Orguss, Overman King Gainer, Trider G7, Xabungle... and many more for a total of 34 properties featured in the game.
Along with the regular edition of the game which is shipping today, Banpresto has also released a limited edition which is bundled with a Super Robot Wars 2 Hakai-hen fan booklet which contains character info and a game summary.

Eschatos is a Greek word which means "the last" and can be properly used to refer to the beginning of space beyond the bounds of the Earth. Now that word etymology is out of the way, the game Eschatos tells the story of an invasion from outer space. In the year 21XX, waves of UFOs descend upon the Earth in an aggressive manner. To confront the threat, a single space fighter is sent to defend the planet from all-out attack. Why only one space fighter to face an entire armada of UFOs? Well, because it's got skills to attack enemies through 26 stages. Said space fighter throws out two types of shots: a powerful "Forward Shot" which fires directly in front of the ship and a "Wide Shot" which unleashes streams of lasers in a 90º arc in front of the ship. The wide shot covers more area but is less concentrated than the forward shot.

The arcade version of Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta was released on Naomi cartridge in the summer of 2008 at the price of JPY178,000. There was no way we were paying nearly US$2000 for a cartridge-based game but we did pick up a used copy from an operator for about $600. Mamoru-kun has already been released on the Xbox 360 at a much lower price than the coin-op kit and a PS3 version is headed home. The game follows the adventures of a lad named Tomoka Mamoru who's been involved in a car accident. After he's hit by a speeding vehicle, his soul is immediately spirited to the underworld by a priestess who calls herself Fululu Jigokudani.

A Miku to make your heart skip a beat! A Nendoroid based on the Hatsune Miku Orchestra design! YMO (Yellow Magic Orchestra) recently released a CD called "HMO (Hatsune Miku Orchestra)", and the illustration of that jacket cover, illustrated by manga artist Kuu, became so popular that it is now getting it's very own Nendoroid rendition, oversized sleeves and all! A variety of extra items seen in the PV of the song "Kimi ni, mune kyun. -Uwaki na Vacation-", such as a keyboard and an electric drum set are included.

| 03-10-11 Shin Sangoku Musou 6 |

The Warring States of Wei, Wu, and Shu are in play once again in Koei's Shin Sangoku Musou 6 (aka Dynasty Warriors 7) where legendary warriors rally their forces against rival kingdoms. SSM6 features new characters such as Sima Zhao and Bao Sanniang who have never appeared in earlier SSM games. The new "Variable Attack" allows a fighter to alternate between two main weapons in battle by pressing a single button to mix up the attacks. Similar to previous SSM games, players command a single hero who wades into the battlefield against hordes of enemy soldiers. By swinging a sword in the vicinity of an oncoming attack squad, the hero is liable to smack at least eight does with a single blow.

Venture into the Netherworld once more and step into the persona of a new hero named Valbatoze who was once powerful and admired. Since his glory days however, Valbatoze has suffered a setback and currently works as the warden of the Netherworld Prison. He watches the inmates and the Prinnies in a dead-end job that offers little fulfillment. Val's destiny seems sealed but after seeing the disrepair and perversion that the Netherworld has fallen into, he decides that it's time for regime change and he's going to be the agent of that change. Valbatoze intends to become the next Overlord of the Netherworld and he hatches a plan for a coup of Netherworld's ruling body.

| 02-23-11 Muchi Muchi Pork! & Pink Sweets |

The heroines in Muchi Muchi Pork are portly and Rubenesque in physique but that shouldn't deter anyone from enjoying Cave's vertical shooter which was originally released in the Spring of 2007. Brightly hued and filled with pastel luminescence, MMP was a highly sought-after kit amongst the Japanese coin-op collecting community. That collecting-fever will probably change when Cave releases the home conversion of the game on the Xbox 360 next year. Along with MMP, Cave's also bundling Pink Sweets on the DVD which is related to Ibara. In Pink Sweets, Mother Theresa, the sixth Guardian in Ibara, did not die. Neither did any of the Rose sisters. We know this because they're back in Cave's Pink Sweet's where they've shifted from the dark side to the light.

The premise in Catherine is age-old but with a twist. Boy meets girl but girl might be the death of boy. The protagonist is a 32-year old named Vincent who's not too ambitious and wears polka-dot drawers. One day, he meets a blonde named Catherine who's 22 and a bundle of sexiness. However, ever since Vincent met Cat, he's been having some really bad nightmares of the potentially lethal variety. The supporting cast of characters include Katherine (with a K), friends Orlando, Jonathan, Tobias, waitress Erica, and an older gentleman-bartender named Master.

New orders are welcome for the fourth volume of Yujin's Shooting Game Historica gashapon which features another five ships from old school shooters and a brand new game which was released relatively recently. Please note that each ship requires some assembly which is fairly simple plug, push, and prop up.
