I was hoping to get a HRAP 2.0 but since no one has them, I settled for the HRAP 1.0. Like the fellow mentioned earlier, this is the second version of the HRAP which does away with the mirrored plate on the top which was easily scratched. I've heard of people covering their mirrored plates on the original HRAPv1 with a thin sheet of plastic to avoid scratching which may work but the new HRAP doesn't scratch or mar as easily. The mounting plate has also changed so be aware that you will not be able to mod the stick easily if you're trying to mount something else on there. Anyway, the joystick on this thing is an authentic Sanwa ball stick but the buttons are Hori and can be removed if you're interested in replacing them. The quality is great and it feels substantially better than the sticks I've gotten from Sammy and ASCII.
Its a very good stick... but before you buy make sure you understand that it may not be the exact HRAP version 1 with the reflective surface that your gettting
( for all your modding heads out there :P )
i know it looks reflective on the website but the pic you see here isnt likely to be the stick you get
I just ordered this stick last week (october 2006) thougt that i was getting ther HRAP v1 but turns out i only got the HRAP v1-B of the stick which cant be modded with seimitsu's
it sits in the box now.
payed a load for it too being international.
And all this after calling and trying to get detailed information.. thuth be told they did try to help me out but only came back with the model number, which... sadly is the same as the original HRAP so you cant tell what it is till you get it.
otherwize a great stick if you like sanwa sticks that is and you can still swap the hori buttons for sanwa's or seimitsu. (i wanted to go seimitsu with the stick though but from what im reading you cant with this stick HRAP v1-B)
This is my first time buying an arcade stick and after doing some research I came upon the hori real arcade pro joystick. The stick is BIG, but it's not too heavy to put on your lap. The joystick feels solid and it doesn't feel like it was made from cheap parts. My only complaint is I wish it came with a north, south, east, west indicator on the stick. Other than that there's nothing really bad I can say about this stick. 5 stars.
The best thing since sliced bread I tell you the truth! The stick itself is great with the sawna stick and the hori buttons. Feels like you are playing on a replica of a arcade machine. Only downside of the stick it the placement of the Turbo switches. Why do I need turbo switches?!? Anyway if you want sawna or semitsu buttons, you can change out the ones with ease. And the customer service of NCSX was great. One of the few sites that had one of these when others were sold out.
