| This is a wonderfully relaxing diversion from the usual NDS titles - and despite my utter lack of Japanese, I seem to be progressing well!
There are 4 mini-games as well as the paintings, which, when played will unlock bonus items, such as different paper/canvasses ,and additional pallettes ( very useful in the pencil mode, since you cannot mix colours). The simon game ( remember the colours) unlocks pallettes, and what you need to do, is to play each difficulty level 3 times ( same for each mini game) to unlock everything!
The move the dot around the track is utterly frustrating, and i haven't been able to unlock the final paper type ( yet).
If you paint your initially available 11 pictures well enough, you will also unlock new pictures. It is pretty hard to acheive this level of accuracy, and i've only managed to unlock the grapes picture so far.
If anyone knows what effect the unlocked brushes have i'd love to know, since i can't find a way to access them.
If you go to the 2nd menu, and choose option 5 you will find various stars which show you what you have unlocked ( via the mini games).
My fave minigame is whack the squirrel.
All in all, a good value product, with more to offer than at first glance - and rapidly becoming a favourite of mine, to unwind to, after a long day. |

| I bought this game as soon as it was released, and haven't been disappointed.
It may sound dull, with the aim being to drop 3 square shapes into a pit ( 1 less value than the timeless Tetris) to get a blue penguin through the universe, but this game grabs you by the throat as soon as you sit down to play.
I've run my battery flat several times,it is so addictive.
There are 5 game types, mostly single player, but some involve beating the NDS through different rounds, ( there appear to be 90 - you go to 45, then start again on a harder level, 1-45. ) this is quite fun - and a qood way to build up those $$$ that you will need to unlock the different skins that are available in the game.
Skins?? they don't show up until you have scored so many points in game 3, but there are 10 background skins, and 50 piece skins, all of which offer lovely eyecandy, and are sure to keep you from getting bored with the same old appearance.
Some skins are really expensive - the one to unlock the little fairhaired guy who flies the penguin, is a million bucks. I haven't got him yet.
Addictive - definitely,
good looking - sure is
longevity - if you like tetris, you'll play this for years!!
You don't need to know any japanese to play this, it's all graphics.
Go on, you know you want it!! |
